Admissions Criteria

Cherry Tree Out of School Club offers full and part time places to pupils of Cherry Tree Primary School with a maximum number of 40 After School Club places and 30 Breakfast Club places available each school day. All places will be offered based on the criteria below.

The following admissions criteria will be used for the clubs:-

Siblings of a child attending breakfast club and after school club full time, finishing at 6.00pm, where the sibling will attend at the same time
Siblings of a child attending breakfast club and after school club full time, finishing at 5.30pm, where the sibling will attend at the same time
Siblings of a child attending after school club full time, finishing at 6.00pm, where the sibling will attend at the same time (for afterschool club places) or siblings of a child attending breakfast club full time,  where the sibling will attend at the same time (for breakfast club places)
Siblings of a child attending after school club full time, finishing at 5.30pm, where the sibling will attend at the same time
Siblings of a child attending part time, where the sibling will attend at the same time.
A child requiring a full time place (both breakfast club and after school club)
A child requiring a full time place (either  breakfast club or after school club)
A child requiring a part time place

Where part time places are requested, these will be prioritised on the basis of the highest number of days requires (i.e. request for 4 days would be ahead of 3 days etc.)

Admissions Process:-
Stage 1 – A letter will be sent to parents of children currently attending the After School Club asking them for any changes to current arrangements or siblings looking to attend, at the end of April.
Stage 2 – A letter will be provided to the school to issue to the parents of children who will be starting in

Class F and parents of children attending the school who do not currently attend the club, to apply for places at the club from the following September, equal priority will be given to these applicants. These letters will be given to the school to be sent out to new Class F patents at the beginning of May.

Where a parent wishes to increase the number of days which their child attends this will be on a first come first served basis,  a waiting list for any fully subscribed sessions will be created where necessary.When places are offered a parent will have a period of two weeks in which to accept that place, any placed not accepted after this time will be offered to the next child meeting the criteria.Casual places are available on a 1st come 1st served basis subject to availability, please speak to one of the Club Supervisors if you require one.

In the event of everything being equal between 2 or more applicants and insufficient places exist, or where there may be any ambiguity in priority between two applicants then requests for places will be referred to the committee and a decision taken.

Where a parent has a child who usually attends until 5.30 and needs an occasional place until 6.00 this is acceptable providing at least 24 hours notice is given to one of the Club supervisors, the charge for this is £10.
