Class 2

Teacher: Mrs Greason

Adopted Governor for this class: George Bainton
The Adopted Governor stays with the class as they progress through the school.

A class newsletter outlining work covered and homework tasks is sent out each week. Homework will comprise one written task OR one practical task per week. It should take approximately half an hour. Homework will be sent home on a Friday, and should be handed in on Wednesday.

Spellings are given to pupils each Friday, for a test the following Friday.

Reading continues to be vitally important this year, so in addition to written homework your support with listening to your child read at home as regularly as possible, ideally on a daily basis, is very much appreciated. Discussing and asking questions about the books you share will enhance their comprehension and inference skills and we will also be focussing on these during our individual and guided reading sessions in school. Please use the Reading Prompts sent home each term to develop your child’s analytical skills. Please remember children should record any reading they do at home in their Reading Record Books.

PE lessons will be held with Mr Morris on Mondays and Fridays. Please ensure they have a full PE kit in school.

Your child will take their Key Stage 1 SATS assessments in May. There will be a presentation by the teacher nearer the time. The literacy and numeracy support for parent leaflets on this page will guide you as to the expected learning for this age group.
