The Out of School Club operates within the school hall at Cherry Tree Primary School, but runs independently of the school. It is run by a Management Committee of parents who are elected annually at the AGM, and committee members serve for a minimum of two years. The committee employs a team of six staff to care for the children in accordance with Ofsted ratios of 1:8 for every child under the age of a eight, with a maximum of 40 places available in the Out of School Club and 30 places available in the Breakfast Club. Fees are reviewed annually and communicated before September.
The Out of School Club exists to provide good quality, affordable childcare on a non-profit making basis and was originally financed with a grant from the Training and Enterprise Council. The Club is registered with Ofsted and complies with the requirements of the Children Act 1989.
