After School Club Play Worker
The Governing Board of Cherry Tree Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic After School Club Play Worker to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will work 2.5 hours per day, Monday to Thursday, during term time (38 weeks). This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an effective and supportive staff team who are passionate about delivering high-quality childcare and enriching experiences for children aged 3 to 11 in our welcoming school community.
GRADE & SALARY: Grade 3, SCP 4. Term time only. £12.65 per hour £5503 a year.
£24,404 Full-time equivalent (FTE)
2.5 Hours per day (Monday to Thursday)
10 hours per week
START DATE: Required as soon as possible.
TYPE of POSITION:
- Fixed Term Contract until July 2026 due to current pupil numbers and funding.
- 10 hours per week, during term time / 2.5 hours per day, (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu)
- The hours would be 3pm- 5:30pm
DETAILS OF ROLE:
The role involves creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment where children can relax, learn, and play after the school day ends. The Play Worker would be involved in delivering exciting activities – from arts and crafts to games and team challenges – supporting children’s social skills, confidence, and creativity. They would be part of a friendly, caring team, that ensures every child feels included, happy, and valued. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children and believes in the power of play to nurture growth and imagination.
